Ventilation Imbalances in Mild to Moderate Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (VAPOR)
The Investigators plan a single center study to get preliminary data to answer a number of fundamental questions directly related to management of COPD.
The research will determine whether ventilation heterogeneity and distribution of ventilation inform, determine, assist or drive the: 1) status or clinical course in patients with COPD, 2) understanding of factors associated with activities of daily living and quality of life in patients, 3) risk of exacerbation or hospitalization in those with COPD, and 4) predictors of therapeutic pathway or treatment regime.
4DX for the Diagnosis of Constrictive Bronchiolitis
Constrictive bronchiolitis is an uncommon lung disease that has been described in Veterans of conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Although these Veterans have evidence of constrictive bronchiolitis on lung biopsies, non-invasive tests such as pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are often normal.
This study will determine whether analysis of fluoroscopy images using the 4Dx XV Ventilation Analysis software developed by 4DMedical will be able to detect constrictive bronchiolitis in Veterans better than PFTs.
4D Medical X-ray Velocimetry for Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction Targeting
This study will investigate the utility of 4D Medical’s X-ray Velocimetry (XV) imaging analysis software for the detection of hyperinflation, and compare endobronchial valve placement outcomes with predictive indices obtained utilizing this technique.
4DX Functional Lung Imaging in the Diagnosis of Chronic Lung Allograft Dysfunction After Lung Transplantation
This is a pilot study to determine the utility of Novel Functional Lung Imaging and Ventilation (4DxV) Analysis software in measurement of lung ventilation abnormalities and diagnosis of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) after lung transplantation.
