ABOUT 4DMEDICAL

Our Patient Advocacy Organisation partners

Patient advocacy organisations (PAOs) provide an important and diverse range of support services focused upon patients and caregivers such as education and advice. They raise public awareness of the symptoms, risk factors, and treatment options for various conditions, and promote research to cure, mitigate or prevent diseases.
PAOs often play a significant role in lobbying governments to increase research funding or widen access to pharmaceuticals.
4DMedical is privileged to work alongside a number of influential PAOs in the respiratory health space.

Lung Transplant Foundation

Lung transplantation (or ‘LTx’) presents very specific challenges, but the most daunting is a form of organ rejection called bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS). There are no effective treatments for BOS and lung transplant rejection.
The Lung Transplant Foundation is dedicated to funding research into this life-threating issue, educating and enhancing public awareness of organ donation, and promoting lung transplantation as a viable alternative to end-stage lung disease.
During the initial phase of the Jeff Goldstein BETTER program, the Foundation is facilitating deployment of 4DMedical’s XV LVAS imaging capability at up to eight lung transplant centres across the U.S. where its value in monitoring and enhancing transplant outcomes for patients with compromised pulmonary function will be assessed and reported.

Lung Foundation Australia

Lung Foundation Australia is the only charity and leading peak body of its kind in Australia that funds life-changing research and delivers support services that give hope to people living with lung disease or lung cancer.
Working to ensure lung health is a priority for all, Lung Foundation Australia engages in health promotion, advocacy and raising awareness of respiratory conditions − championing equitable access to treatment and care, enabling Australians with lung disease and lung cancer to live their best lives.
Lung Foundation Australia is highly active across a wide range of pulmonary conditions including lung cancer. chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary arterial hypertension, childhood interstitial lung disease and Alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency.
Enhancing understanding of the impact of post-COVID respiratory conditions is an area of joint interest to the Foundation and 4DMedical.

COPD Foundation [U.S.]

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a collective term used to describe several chronic lung diseases including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
The COPD Foundation improves the lives of people with COPD, bronchiectasis, and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease through initiatives that expand services and speed innovations which will make treatment more effective and affordable.
The Foundation does this through scientific research, education, advocacy, and awareness with the goal of disease prevention, slowed progression, and ultimately a cure.

Cystic Fibrosis Australia

Focused on collaborative programs, research, funding partnerships and advocacy, Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA) is committed to improving clinical practice and patient outcomes, with the aim of extending life expectancy for people afflicted with cystic fibrosis CF from 47 to 55 years by 2025.

4DMedical collaborates with CFA promoting research, enabling the capability of XV Technology to be optimised in delivering better outcomes more quickly for people with cystic fibrosis.

Asthma Australia

Asthma Australia is a for-purpose, consumer organisation with a history of improving the lives of people with asthma.
Working with people with asthma, their family and friends, health professionals, researchers and governments, Asthma Australia delivers evidence-based prevention and health strategies to more than half a million people each year — finding the best treatments and practices to make sure life with asthma is the best it can be, and helping people to live freely.

American Thoracic Society

With a membership of over 16,000 pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine professionals worldwide, the American Thoracic Society (ATS) is committed to preventing respiratory diseases by advancing research, education, patient care, and advocacy.
The ATS offers a wealth of information to clinicians, researchers and patients in relation to asthma, COPD and critical illnesses including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and rare lung diseases such as Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome.
4DMedical is a prominent participant and scientific program contributor at every annual ATS Conference, and in 2021 partnered with the ATS in a pioneering initiative promoting the potential of XV Technology towards ensuring more equitable access to health care in the United States.
