Professor Bruce Thompson, a member of 4DMedical’s expert Advisory Board, has been recognised in the 2023 Australia Day Honours list.

Currently Head of the Melbourne School of Health Sciences at 4DMedical’s primary academic and research partner, the University of Melbourne, Professor Thompson’s distinguished career includes high profile appointments within Monash and Swinburne universities, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Presidency of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ).  He is regarded as an international expert on clinical respiratory measurement, leading research effort inclusive of physiology measurement, imaging, and mathematical modelling.

The accompanying citation to this award of Member of the Order of Australia (AM) references Professor Thompson’s significant service to respiratory medicine, and to tertiary medical education.
