4DMedical CT:VQ - Ventilation and Perfusion Analysis - Maximum Contrast and No Injections

4DMedical Receives TGA Approval for CT:VQ™, Expanding Access to Functional Lung Imaging in Australia

4DMedical has received Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approval for CT:VQ™ and has been included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), enabling commercial deployment across Australia. CT:VQ™ is the first and only non-contrast, CT-based ventilation-perfusion imaging solution, delivering regional functional lung information directly from routine chest CT scans.

Unlike traditional ventilation-perfusion (V/Q) imaging, CT:VQ™ does not require injected contrast agents, radiotracers, specialized cameras, or dedicated nuclear medicine infrastructure. The technology enables hospitals and imaging providers to generate ventilation and perfusion data using existing CT imaging resources, helping expand access to functional lung imaging across metropolitan, regional, and rural healthcare settings.

The TGA approval represents an important milestone for Australian physicians, radiologists, respiratory specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and healthcare systems seeking scalable approaches to respiratory imaging and lung function assessment. By leveraging routine chest CT scans, CT:VQ™ provides an alternative pathway to ventilation-perfusion imaging while helping preserve nuclear medicine capacity for other diagnostic and therapeutic services.

CT:VQ™ has already been deployed at leading U.S. healthcare institutions, including Stanford, Cleveland Clinic, UC San Diego Health, University of Chicago Medicine, University of Miami, and SimonMed. The Australian launch further expands 4DMedical’s global footprint in advanced respiratory imaging and functional lung assessment.
