One Scan, Two Functions: Bringing Non-Contrast Ventilation–Perfusion Mapping into Everyday CT Practice

CT:VQ™ is an FDA-cleared, non-contrast software solution that transforms routine chest CT scans into quantitative ventilation and perfusion maps, providing pulmonologists with rapid, anatomically aligned functional insights without requiring changes to scanning protocols or reliance on nuclear medicine availability.

Speakers:
Joseph Mammarappallil, MD (Duke University)  |  Matt Tucker, CCO

ATS-Hosted AI Lab Presentation

“Seeing Beyond Structure: How AI Can Reveal Regional Lung Ventilation and Perfusion”

This session will present the different ways AI is being applied in lung imaging, with a focus on how AI-enabled imaging can reveal regional lung function and support diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up. Using practical imaging examples, the session will also show how AI together with mathematical algorithms can help visualize and quantify regional lung ventilation and perfusion—information that is often not available from standard imaging or global lung function tests alone. Attendees will also get a look at emerging and future functional imaging technologies, including approaches that may expand access to contrast-free V/Q assessment. The goal is to help clinicians better understand how AI can complement existing workflows, support treatment evaluation, and build confidence in its role in pulmonary care.

Speaker:
Trishul Siddharthan, MD, FCCP, ATSF (University of Miami)

Tuesday, May 19  |  11:05–11:35am  |  Innovation Hub 3, Exhibit Hall #650
