SBS World News features 4Dx as they set their sights on the US

Our 4Dx lung imaging technology was showcased on SBS World News, with Sarah Abo, on Wednesday the 3rd of March 2016

The news feature demonstrated how 4Dx is advancing beyond an x-ray image, with first of its kind software that captures a 4D animation of the lung in motion.

Director of Re4Dx in the CAVEspiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Associate Professor Louis Irving, also shared his excited about what the software could mean for patients of Asthma, COPD, Lung Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis and Black Lung.

Andreas Fouras, Founder and Executive Chairman of 4Dx, explained his recent move to the United States to realise his invention into the marketplace.

“If it succeeds in the United States, the technology will be taken up globally, and that will lead to the best outcomes for the most number of patients,” he said.

Professor Ian Smith is Vice-Provost of Research at Monash University, where Mr Fouras created his software, views the invention as an opportunity to push Australian innovation.

Backing Andreas’ entrepreneurial streak, who has seen that journey from discovery, Professor Ian Smith stood by Andreas ability to his invention, to raise funding against it, to build it, to do the prototypes and ultimately commercialise the product into the clinic.
